This is an original story written by Watoku Ueno. A fantasy tale, a sidewalk tree falls in love with a woman poet, who would pass the tree every day, reading poetry aloud. One day, a car strikes the tree, and the tree falls. The fallen tree is taken by a furniture maker, who uses it to make a chair. Although the tree had fallen, the tree spirit still remembered his love for the woman, and this love remained alive in the wood of the chair. The poet visits the chair store, and this love flares up. In a magical moment of transformation, the tree spirit transforms into human form, however the love story is never completed.
